Here is an online repository of diet information with reviews, outlines, samples, and investigation of over 80 diets. We really should start using "weight loss" and other synonyms here...it's just not right to push DIET when the first three letters are D-I-E. Let's collect some good synonyms for our weight loss lexicon: weight reduction plan, abstinence (nah!), fasting, xerophagy (for the William Buckley wannabes, no doubt).
You know, when I finally started losing weight, I really wasn't omitting that much (aside from sugar - you can't lose weight with sweets in your diet). But I really look at healthy eating as a positive - something I *do* or add in, rather than something I take away. Does that make sense? Anyway, am enjoying your positive posts! :)
Note from Fran: Stephanie, What you say makes PERFECT sense! I'm still on a weight plateau and I can only conclude that I need to look at a better "mix" of foods. I'm not depriving myself of anything (except junk), but it's been too long since I read that South Beach book...and I confess I only gave it a "skim". I'll hit that later this weekend.
