My first experience with censorship was a tenth-grade encounter with Sister Helen. I wrote the weekly column for my high school in a local newspaper and Sister preferred that I remain discrete and not offer as much disclosure as I was inclined to share. I opted for public education.
My second experience with censorship was with a local REALTOR association some years ago when they kicked me off their listserv. So, I went out and started a blog. Then we kissed and made up.
My third experience with censorship was on the RealTalk community platform last year, where Father John Reilly and Sister Joeann protect the community from impure thoughts. I said my penance, they offered absolution, and we remain friends.
The other day I saw a blog post removed from the Inman Blog. Pray tell, could it be that I wrote a post that was TOO hot for Inman that would stand the muster of Father John and Sister Joeann? Wonders will never cease.
Yesterday I wrote an article that contained a word with the letters "s," "e," and "x" in succession. I am crossing my fingers ... and saying a prayer that the article survives editorial scrutiny. --Frances Flynn Thorsen, Managing Editor, RealTown
