Recent inquiries by the U.S. House of Representatives and the Government Accounting Office into the question of competitiveness of the real estate industry have drawn scorn from critics. Competition cannot be gauged deficient based upon real estate practitioner census.
National Assn. of REALTORS® reports that between 1997 to June 2005, the association added 472,750 members, a gain of 66 percent. There are 1.2 million REALTORS® and some 2.5 licensed real estate agents in the U.S.
New Jersey REALTOR® Bill Keegan recently shared his own market study with RealTalk list serv subscribers. Keegan analyzed the market in each state to determine REALTORS® per capita. Arizona has the most REALTORS® per capita, 121. Florida and Nevada were close behind, with 126 and 128 respectively. West Virginia, Mississippi,,and North Dakota were REALTOR® deprived in comparison, having 591, 553, and 509.
At this rate, you might say there's a future REALTOR® born in this country almost every 10 minutes.
