Beware The Ides Of March

EDITORIAL: An epidemic hubris infects the halls of power. Congress is racing to the finish line this week with a Bankruptcy Bill that has opponents in both conservative and liberal camps shaking their heads in dismay. Grassroots opposition was planted too late to be effective. Powerhouse lobbyists from the National Assn. of REALTORS® supported the bill; their members recently voiced a strong 9:1 opposition to the measure in a listserv confab.  The groundswell of scrutiny grows and flourishes as other issues present. There is a resounding voice of dissent that may spell "doom" for the administration's plan to dismantle the Social Security system. Citizens are looking for more thoughtful analysis from within their own ranks.
